Synopsis
In Small Country, a father struggles to protect his son from a reality that is closing in: the loss of their home in a city where evictions are becoming ever more frequent. Between the streets of Lisbon and the invisibility of those who survive on them, he does everything he can to make sure his son keeps studying, hiding the hardships and the weight of his own downfall. In a quiet gesture of resistance, he refuses to let his son work and carries the harshness of daily life alone. With intimacy and urgency, the film reveals the fragility of those living on the margins and the strength of a love that insists on being greater than adversity.
